We're still six days away from the new year, but because Top Tracks drops on Mondays, that means that this is the last edition of 2016. Obviously, the biggest trend of the year in this feature has been Drake's dominance, as every song he dropped or was featured on wound up at #1, unless it was beat out by another Drake song. Outside of that, 2 Chainz seems to have been the most frequently-appearing artist, mostly as a guest, but that's still impressive considering that the 39-year-old is basically on his second comeback. We'd also be remiss to ignore the success of DJ Khaled & Co.'s "Do You Mind" and Mac Miller and Anderson .Paak's "Dang!", which have both appeared on our Top Tracks lists since they dropped in July.
This week, Jeremih leads the way with three appearances, although they're all features, and Big Sean, Chance The Rapper, DJ Khaled, and Rick Ross are all tied with two apiece. New tracks barely missing out on a spot include Kid Ink's "Yu Know It" (#13), Rich Chigga's "Seventeen" (#16), Rich Homie Quan and YFN Lucci's "Ya Ya" (#17), and Dave East's "Vagagbond" (#22).
10. Kid Cudi Feat. Andre 3000 - By Design
Kid Cudi's Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin dropped to very mixed reviews around ten days ago, but one thing we could all agree was a highlight was the first of Andre 3000's two guest appearances, "By Design." A clear stylistic descendant of the out-there Outkast rapper, Cudi does justice to the collab with one of the best beats and some of the tighter writing on his album. On its first week of eligibility, "By Design" debuts at #10.
9. DJ Drama Feat. Lil Wayne - Intro
Surprise! Thus far, the first track on DJ Drama's 2016 project has only popped up on Top Tracks a few times, but here it is, back again some 23 weeks after first dropping. Undoubtedly, it's thanks to one of the finest Weezy verses in recent memory. On its 23rd week out, "Intro" is up two spots from #11 to #9.
8. Chance The Rapper & Jeremih - I Shoulda Left You (Prod. By Zaytoven)
As a holiday surprise, Chance and Jeremih dropped their collab tape Merry Christmas Lil Mama last week, and on "I Shoulda Left You," the already-high-profile pair linked with another hip hop titan, Zaytoven. Although the track isn't as popular as others on the list (72% user approval), the tape itself did fairly well, garnering 84% approval. "I Shoulda Left You" debuts at #8.
7. French Montana Feat. Kodak Black, Jeezy, Rick Ross & DJ Khaled - Lockjaw (Remix)
French Montana and Kodak Black's Wave Gods (and MC4) cut "Lockjaw" was already one of the biggest songs of the year, but as a bonus, they threw a bunch of big names on it for a year-end remix. It's unclear what Khaled really adds to the already-great track, but Rozay and the Snowman are welcome additions. The "Lockjaw" remix debuts at #7.
6. Mac Miller Feat. Anderson .Paak - Dang!
It's now been 22 weeks since Mac Miller dropped his first Divine Feminine single, "Dang!" featuring Anderson .Paak, and over ten since the last week that it didn't appear on our Top Tracks list. Let's see how long this streak lasts. In its 22nd week out, "Dang!" goes up one spot from #7 to #6.
5. DJ Khaled Feat. Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown, August Alsina, Jeremih, Future & Rick Ross - Do You Mind
Even more successful than Mac Miller and Anderson .Paak's "Dang!" is DJ Khaled's "Do You Mind," which dropped the same July day, but hasn't fallen out of the Top Tracks list once. In its 22nd week out, "Do You Mind" holds at #5.
4. 21 Savage - 100
HNHH ranks its user approval out of 100, which is the name of 21 Savage's latest track, but the 28% rating on this one might be the lowest we've ever had on one of our Top Tracks. The Atlanta rapper seems to occupy a weird space on the site right now, in that everyone's interested in seeing what he's doing, but just come to hate on him. Despite that, "100" debuts at #4.
3. Gucci Mane Feat. Drake - Both
GuWop and Drizzy linked up for the second time this year on "Both," a track taken from the former's new Return Of East Atlanta Santa album, and obviously, it rocketed to the top of our list. Pretty surprisingly though, it's been unseated by two Big Sean tracks in only its second week out. "Both" falls two spots from #1 to #3.
2. Big Sean Feat. Chance The Rapper & Jeremih - Living Single
Originally leaked a few months ago, "Living Single" finds Big Sean collaborating with two residents of a nearby Midwest city who are responsible for Merry Christmas Lil Mama, Chance The Rapper and Jeremih. The collab dropped two weeks ago, and coupled with Sean's latest single, is ramping up excitement for his new album. In its second week out, "Living Single" is up two spots from #4 to #2.
1. Big Sean - Moves (Prod. By 808 Mafia)
Last week, Big Sean unveiled details for his upcoming album I Decided, which will drop on February 2nd, as well as the first single, "Moves." Produced by 808 Mafia, this one was a huge hit, clocking in at 91% user approval. "Moves" debuts at #1.
