Since debuting last year, Drake's OVO Sound Radio installation on Apple's Beats 1 has proven a huge force in debuting music by already-established stars as well as breaking new talent like Kodak Black, dvsn, and WizKid. Obviously, it's an engine that's benefitted its creator the most, creating huge events out of the debuts of What A Time To Be Alive, "Summer Sixteen," and VIEWS, but the 6 God has spread the love too. Producers like Murda Beatz, Nineteen85, and Zaytoven have hosted the program, sharing both new music of their own and, on occasion, Future's too. The weekend before Thanksgiving, Zay and DJ Esco hosted, and two new Future loosies popped up. As is predictable at this point, they went on to dominate our charts.
Fewtch leads this week's crop of participants with three appearances, all at the top of the list, and following him up are 21 Savage and The Weeknd, both with two apiece. New tracks barely missing out this week include Lil Durk and 21 Savage's "Shooter2x" (#11), Boosie Badazz and Lil Scrappy's "No Drake On" (#12), Ray J and Chris Brown's "Famous" (#13), and Juicy J and Slim Jxxmi's "Gimme Gimme" (#15).
10. DJ Drama Feat. Lil Wayne - Intro
Well isn't this a surprise? As YFN Lucci's long-lasting "Key To The Streets" remix drops out of the mix for the first time in eleven weeks, another even older song makes its first appearance. DJ Drama's Lil Wayne-featuring "Intro" is now the oldest track on the chart, even counting the two ageless wonders ahead of it on the list. In its 19th week out, "Intro" goes up eight places from 18 to 10.
9. The Weeknd Feat. Kendrick Lamar - Sidewalks
Say say say -- this Weeknd and K Dot track is pretty dope. It may be Abel Tesfaye's best vocal performance to date, and although it's a pretty undeniable subpar verse (for which he's been roasted this past week), a Kendrick verse is still a Kendrick verse. "Sidewalks" makes its debut at #1.
8. Ty Dolla $ign & 24hrs - Back Up
Future wasn't the only non-OVO artist to benefit from last week's radio show -- Ty Dolla and 24hrs collectively known as 24 Dollas, also had a new track debuted by DJ Esco. "Back Up" is a steamy jam that proved quite popular with HNHH users. The start of a fruitful artistic partnership? The track debuts at #8.
7. Fetty Wap Feat. 21 Savage - King Zoo
As Drake himself proved a few weeks ago, gifting 21 Savage a guest verse is a wise move right now. "King Zoo" is easily the best-performing Fetty Wap track on our site this year, and the only one to chart -- thanks Twenniwan! The Zoovier highlight debuts at #7.
6. The Weeknd Feat. Daft Punk - I Feel It Coming
The magnificent closing track of Starboy, The Weeknd's "I Feel It Coming" is one of two album tracks to boast a coveted feature from masked French duo Daft Punk. To it, they bring their signature oscillating synths and vocoder vox, and produce quite the pristine, misty-eyed pop single. In its second week out, "I Feel It Coming" drops three spots from #3 to #6.
5. Mac Miller Feat. Anderson .Paak - Dang!
No surprises here -- Mac Miller and Anderson .Paak's "Dang!" has been in and out of the top ten since it dropped in July, but it's been trending upward for the past couple weeks. Where this all ends, I don't know, but it's still not as impressive as another track that dropped the same day. In its eighteenth week out, "Dang!" goes up three spots from #8 to #5.
4. YG Feat. 21 Savage - I Be On
21 Savage's second high-profile feature of the week came on YG's EP-length release Red Friday. As opposed to the Fetty Wap collab, which only received a 56% user approval rating, "I Be On" bucked HNHH's trend of 21 Savage hate, garnering an 80%. The track makes its debut at #4.
3. DJ Khaled Feat. Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown, Future, August Alsina, Jeremih & Rick Ross - Do You Mind
This song just won't quit. Unlike Mac Miller's "Dang!" and the even older DJ Drama intro, DJ Khaled's "Do You Mind" has appeared on our charts each and every week since it dropped, and has also recently been trending upward. In its eighteenth week out, it's up one spot from #4 to #3.
2. Future - Poppin' Tags
The two Future tracks that DJ Esco debuted two weekends ago couldn't have been more different. "Poppin' Tags" is the decidedly more turnt one, and despite sounding more like a single than "Ain't Tryin," it didn't sit as well with the HNHH audience, getting less views and approval. In its second week out, the track goes up 29 places from #31 to #2.
1. Future - Ain't Tryin'
Some of diehard FutureHive members' favorite tracks are the star's most downcast-- "Codeine Crazy," "Deeper Than The Ocean," "Throw Away," etc.-- and maybe everyone else is now coming around to the belief that the ATLien's at his best when he's more methodical in his approach. "Ain't Tryin'" isn't exactly depressing, but it's certainly less joyous and reckless than "Poppin' Tags." In its second week out, "Ain't Tryin'" is up 24 spots from #25 to #1.
