After officially being stripped of his UFC lightweight title, Conor McGregor made an unexpected appearance at the UFC 223 Media Day at the Barclay's Center in Brooklyn. Naturally, chaos ensued as McGregor wreaked havoc in the loading dock of the arena.
According to reports, McGregor showed up unannounced right as the media session had ended and he began throwing chairs and a guardrail at one of the buses set to transport fighters back to the host hotel. The Irish superstar was reportedly in search of Khabib Nurmagomedov, who will be competing against Max Holloway this Saturday for the title that McGregor was recently stripped.
According to MMA Junkie, McGregor ended up injuring Michael Chiesa during his wild attack on one of the buses. Chiesa's coach, Rick Little, tells MMA Junkie, “Conor went bananas and put a beating on the van that we were in looking for Khabib,” Little said. “A million security guards had to restrain him. Mike’s cut up now. He’s got marks on him, for sure. I don’t think too serious. Everything happened so fast, it was just like we got jumped.”
