Darren Sproles' season is over after suffering a broken arm and a torn ACL on the same play on Sunday, according to ESPN.
Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson confirmed the news today. Sproles will undergo surgery on his broken arm today and will have surgery on his knee at a later date, according ESPN's Chris Mortensen and Adam Schefter.
The 34-year old running back was injured in the first half of the Eagles' dramatic win over the New York Giants, following a hit from safety Darian Thompson. Miraculously, Sproles was able to walk off the field after being attended to by trainers.
The three-time Pro Bowler rushed for 61 yards this season on 15 carries, and had seven receptions for 73 yards. In his absence, the Eagles will rely on LeGarrette Blount and Wendall Smallwood.
