The past 40 or so hours have obviously been dominated by Drake and his More Life project (I refuse to call it a playlist), but as it premiered live at 6:15pm EST, its tracks arrived too late to make a dent in our Top Ten. The star-studded highlights "Sacrifices" and "Portland" have both fared well on HNHH, racking up over 25k views apiece, but they'll have to wait until next week to break into the top ten. Instead, Rick Ross, whose Rather You Than Me dropped Thursday night (and will probably lose to More Life in all other commercial metrics) is the dominant one today.
Behind Rozay's three appearances on this week's chart, Frank Ocean and Gucci Mane both have two. New songs barely missing out on spots this week include Rich Homie Quan's "Replay" (#12), G Herbo's "Sin & Games" (#13), Flatbush Zombies' "Babel" (#14), and Tinashe's "Flame" (#15).
10. Frank Ocean - Chanel
Frank came through with the surprise drop last weekend, and the result, "Chanel," is fire. He's got new money, and it's all cash. He's got new bags, and they're all collabs. In its second week out, "Chanel" is down spots from #8 to #10.
9. Frank Ocean Feat. ASAP Rocky - Chanel (Remix) [Radio Rip]
Also released on Frank Ocean's Blonded Beats 1 show last weekend was a remix of his new track that featured ASAP Rocky. As the Harlem spitter hasn't released so much as a tiny hint about his A.B.B.A. follow-up yet, hearing his voice for the first time since The Cozy Tape is definitely a relief. In its second week out, the "Chanel" remix is up eight spots from #17 to #9.
8. Shy Glizzy Feat. 21 Savage - No I.D.
"I don't need no ID, I'm with 21" is a pretty amazing opening line/hook, and in fact the first of two times that 21 Savage's name has been used in conjunction with a reference to the age of 21 (Drake's "Sacrifices" being the other). Shy Glizzy (or is it Jefe) and 21's "No I.D." unfortunately doesn't reference, and wasn't produced by, the Chicago legend, but with a smooth, warm soul sample keeping it afloat, it may as well have been. "No I.D." debuts at #8.
7. Chief Keef Feat. Gucci Mane - Jet Li
Back in 2014, a then-incarcerated Gucci Mane linked up with Chief Keef for Big Gucci Sosa, an uneven project that was nevertheless underrated. Since Wop got out of the penitentiary last May, the two hadn't linked up again until last week's lo-fi leak "Jet Li." It's by no means polished, but hearing these two capital-I influencers side-by-side once again is a pleasure in and of itself. "Jet Li" debuts at #7.
6. Rick Ross Feat. Chris Rock - Idols Become Rivals (Birdman Diss)
"Idols Become Rivals" hit our site at 12:30am on Friday morning, so it's had plenty of time to rack up the sort of numbers that diss tracks usually get on here, but for some reason it hasn't reached the heights of most others. Maybe it's because there was no distinct beef between Rozay and Stunna before this, or because Stunna isn't much of a rapper, but it's a damn shame because this puts both Remy and Nicki's recent disses to shame. the fiery track debuts at #6.
5. Rick Ross Feat. Future, Jeezy & Yo Gotti - Dead Presidents
More star-studded, but ultimately less satisfying than either of the two other Rozay tracks on this week's Top Ten, is the blandly-titled "Dead Presidents." All parties do their respective things, but the sum total just feels like your standard-issue Rick Ross banger. It's not bad, but it's a blemish on the otherwise pristine first half of Rather You Than Me. "Dead Presidents" debuts at #5.
4. Desiigner - Outlet
Okay, this is definitely the new "Do You Mind." For the past few weeks, I've been wondering if Desiigner's latest track could mount the kind of run that DJ Khaled's feature-heavy Major Key track had last year, and now it seems clear that it'll probably last at least a quarter of a year on here. The "Do You Mind" streak stretched to over half a year, but one step at a time... In its third week out, "Outlet" is up three spots from #7 to #4.
3. Nicki Minaj Feat. Drake & Lil Wayne - No Frauds
There's less than a 50% average of tracks making repeat performances in our Top Ten, and even less of a chance that they're in the top five for two weeks straight. "No Frauds," however, was a safe bet to buck both of those trends, as it features the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit of one of rap's most top-heavy labels. In its second week out, the track is down two spots from #1 to #3.
2. Mike Will Made It Feat. Big Sean - On The Come Up
After making the Top Ten with his Ransom 2 preview "Gucci On My" two weeks ago, Mike Will's back with another leak from his upcoming project. "On The Come Up" shares its name with our recurring up-and-coming rappers series, but features Big Sean, an already-very-established rapper (despite what his come-up-heavy lyrics usually suggest). The track debuts at #2.
1. Rick Ross Feat. Gucci Mane - She On My Dick
Is this an upset? Rick and Wop are big rappers in their own right, but in a week when Drake and Big Sean released new tracks, and "No Frauds" was taking up a lot of the oxygen, I would have never guessed that a pairing of the two would take the cake. That being said, "She On My Dick" almost matches the glory of Teflon Don's "MC Hammer," which is no small feat. The track debuts at #1.
