Normally, the only tracks guaranteed to go #1 on HNHH are diss tracks and Drake tracks, but this week, both appear on the chart below the top spot. Shocking! There are a few potential explanations though. 1) The diss is from Soulja Boy, one of the most-disliked artists on the site since day one. 2) Drake isn't the lead artist on the track in question, and it's been taken down. And 3) J. Cole also released a song last week.
Migos and Lil Wayne lead all artists with two appearances apiece this week. New tracks barely missing out on a spot include Joey Bada$$' "Land Of The Free (#11), Dave East's "Push It" (#14), Kirk Knight and A$AP Ferg's "Setup" (#15), and Royce Da 5'9"'s "I Got The Keys" remix (#17).
10. DJ Drama Feat. Lil Wayne - Intro
The first of two tracks still hanging on in our Top Ten despite dropping last August, the Quality Street Music 2 intro cut features a Weezy verse that people apparently cannot get enough of. In its 27th week out, "Intro" falls three spots from #7 to #10.
9. Fabolous & Jadakiss Feat. Tory Lanez - Rapture (Prod. By Vinylz & Cam O'Bi)
New York veterans Fabolous and Jadakiss have been teasing their Freddy Vs. Jason joint project for a while now, and although we still have no idea of when it will drop, they did give us the first track from the tape/album a couple of weeks ago. "Rapture" has done well on the charts not just because of the duo's collective strength, but also because of the presence of HNHH favorite Tory Lanez. In its second week out, the rack falls three places from #6 to #9.
8. Migos & Hoodrich Pablo Juan - I Can (Prod. By DJ Spinz & Honorable C.N.O.T.E.)
Migos are so hot right now that even their loosies will chart. Amid every pre-released Culture track hitting our chart, this collab with fellow Atlantan Hoodrich Pablo Juan that won't be on the album also makes the cut, bolstered by a beat from two of the city's most creative producers. "I Can" makes its debut at #8.
7. Migos - What The Price
If a Migos loosie can crack the Top Ten, then of course another album track is going to as well. "What The Price" is now the fourth track we've heard from Culture, preceded by "Bad & Boujee," "T-Shirt," and "Call Casting," and with a 92% user approval rating, it fully lives up to the hype. "What The Price" debuts at #7.
6. DJ Khaled Feat. Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown, August Alsina, Jeremih, Future & Rick Ross - Do You Mind
We've now reached a full half-year of DJ Khaled's Major Key single sitting in our Top Ten. Although it's fallen off a bit this week, don't expect it to go away anytime soon. In its 26th week out, "Do You Mind" falls three spots from #3 to #6.
5. Wale Feat. Lil Wayne - Running Back
Lil Wayne's favorite football team, the Green Bay Packers, got walloped out of the playoffs yesterday, but he's still out here making tracks about the sport. His and Wale's "Running Back" fittingly debuted on ESPN a few weeks back, but we finally got a CDQ version last week, and people were clearly anticipating that. The track makes its debut at #5.
4. Big Sean - Halfway Off The Balcony
A week after Migos give us Culture this Friday, Big Sean will fire back with the second big release of the year a week later when his new project I Decided. arrives. With "Bounce Back" currently doing some work on the actual charts, he drops another album cut in "Halfway Off The Balcony." It makes its debut at #4.
3. Soulja Boy - Hit Em With The Draco (50 Cent & Chris Brown Diss)
If you regularly follow this feature, you know that chart success doesn't always correspond with high user approval, but I can't remember another song getting this high up with such low enthusiasm. With a horrible 18% approval rating, Soulja Boy's diss track appears to have been hate-clicked on more than it was listened to by genuine fans. Nevertheless, "Hit Em With The Draco" debuts at #3.
2. WizKid Feat. Drake - Hush Up The Silence
Barring a quiet upcoming week, "Hush Up The Silence" will go down as the first Drake track to fall short of the #1 spot in the past two years (except for those released on weeks that brought us multiple Drake tracks). It dropped too late in the weekend to make a #1 debut last week, and after being pulled from the web, falls short a second week in a row. In its second week out, "Hush Up The Silence" is up two places from #4 to #2.
1. J. Cole - High For Hours
What a week J. Cole just had. First his recent album 4 Your Eyez Only officially went gold, then he shared a new loosie that immediately climbed to #1. "High For Hours" is the first non-album Cole track we've heard in quite a while, and judging by its 91% rating, most were feeling it. The track debuts at #1.
