There aren't very many changes in this week's Charts Don't Lie compared to last week. The main list of artists has remained the same, as we have yet to receive any new rap or r'n'b debuts on the Billboard 200, although Kid Ink's debut album My Own Lane will begin charting in the near future. Ink's RCA album is projected to move a solid 40-45k, which will land him within the top 3. That's not too shabby, and proves the power of the internet these days-- the growth of Ink's fan-base can be attributed in part to the world wide web. While we wait to see the final first week sales for My Own Lane, we've got Beyonce and Eminem continuing to terrorize the charts as they refuse to let go of their spot within the Billboard 200's top 3. Childish Gambino's Because The Internet climbed up a bit, while B.o.B's Underground Luxury is barely holding on. Check out all the numbers for the past week below.
1) Beyonce— Beyonce: Queen Bey finally falls from grace this week. She was bumped out of the #1 spot on the Billboard 200 (in place of the “Frozen” soundtrack, if you’re curious), and is now sitting comfortably at #2. After four weeks of charting, Beyonce moved another 130,490 units bringing her total sales up to 1,431,882.
2) Eminem— The Marshall Mathers LP 2: Eminem is staying strong on the charts these days. He’s remained stagnant at #3 this week, after charting for nine weeks now. The rapper’s MMLP2 sold 54,722 copies this past week, with his total sales at 1,781,485.
3) R. Kelly— Black Panties: Mr. Black Panties actually rose up the charts a bit this week, having fallen to #17 last week he’s found more luck this week at #11. Kellz album pushed another 31,000 units, while his total sales are at 269,000 units.
4) Drake— Nothing Was The Same: Drizzy saw a slight increase from last week, rising up one place to #15. The YMCMB rapper sold 23,712 copies of his release, while his total sales are 1,368,196. On a related note, Drake’s Take Care has begun charting recently as well, selling 3,594 units this past week and coming in on the Billboard 200 at #175.
5) Justin Timberlake— The 20/20 Experience 2: Justin Timberlake fell several spots in the last seven days, from #13 to his current location #17. The album moved 20k, while his total sales near 1 million, but aren’t quite there yet—801,000.
6) Childish Gambino— Because The Internet: Although Childish Gambino’s new album experienced a drop at the start of its release, it’s been steadily climbing up spots since. Last week Because The Internet rose to #20 and this week it’s climbed up two more spots to #18. The rapper/comedian sold 16,000 copies. His total sales are 173,000.
7) Macklemore & Ryan Lewis— The Heist: After an amazing 65 weeks of chartings, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis continue to do just that, after a momentary lapse when they plummeted to #50. This week the duo have once more climbed up the charts, to #21 from last week’s #27. Their debut album moved another 14,000 units, as their total sales rwach 1,246,000.
8) B.o.B— Underground Luxury: Things unfortunately aren’t looking up for Bobby Ray’s latest album. After a shaky debut, Underground Luxury continues its lacklustre sales, falling to #36 this week. B.o.B’s album moved 9,000 units off shelves this week, with total sales only at 63,000.
9) Justin Timberlake—The 20/20 Experience: The first 20/20 Experience experienced a drop this week, falling below B.o.B at #39. JT’s come-back effort sold 9,000 units similar to B.o.B however his total sales are in the 2 million, 2,436,000 to be exact.
10) Yo Gotti— I Am: Last week we found Yo Gotti’s new album I Am way down at #67, but this week he’s found a spot within the top 50, at #41. Gotti’s album sold 8,600 copies, while his grand total is 120,000.
Jhene Aiko’s Sail Out EP continues to sell, making quite the leap this past week from #146 to #49. Kendrick Lamar’s good kid, m.A.A.d city has become somewhat of a low-key chart mainstay—he’s there, but he’s not super high up. This week he comes in at #65, moving 5,900 units of his debut with total sales at 1,132,000. Kanye West’s Yeezus is following on K. Dot’s heels, as it comes in at #69 with 5,600 units sold and total sales of 630,000. Jay Z comes in lower than these three, with Magna Carta Holy Grail rising up to #76 this week, and moving 5,300 units. Finally 2 Chainz’s B.O.A.T.S. II: #METime comes in at #148, selling 3,300 units (his total sales are still quite low, 221,000 units).
