Of all the oddball curations on DJ Khaled's Father of Asahd, "You Stay" is second only to the Dancehall-laden "Holy Mountain," in terms of curb appeal. It's not in Khaled's blood to make lithy motions with a paddle when a fully-operable V12 engine lies there for the taking. Subtlety is a key principle of life... to anyone not named DJ Khaled. Take the most recent "You Stay" staged in and around his $21.8 million compound, regular just doesn't cut it.
Had he reduced himself to mere paigon status, would Khaled have released five different visual stories on the day his 11th album went to press: "Higher", "Just Us", "Celebrate", "Jealous" and the aforementioned "Holy Mountain" all dropping on May 17th (yesterday, in case you missed it). So, in essence, "You Stay" has taken its rightful place in the queue as the 6th of 8 music videos scheduled to drop in the coming days. By the 20th, two other album cuts, "Wish Wish" and "Weather the Storm" featuring returnees Meek Mill & Lil Baby, will drop on Monday the 20th. Do you dig the onslaught, is there ever enough Khaled-sponsored opulence?
