Fultz reportedly had fluid drained from his right shoulder.

Philadelphia Sixers rookie Markelle Fultz is reportedly planning to visit a specialist soon in hopes to repair his injured right shoulder, which has clearly been nagging him thus far. According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the 19-year old point guard had fluid drained from his right shoulder earlier this month but is still having some serious issues shooting the ball.

Per ESPN,

"Markelle had a shoulder injury and fluid drained out of the back of his shoulder," agent Raymond Brothers told ESPN. "He literally cannot raise up his arms to shoot the basketball. He decided to try and fight through the pain to help the team. He has a great attitude. We are committed to finding a solution to get Markelle back to 100 percent."

Fultz, who the Sixers selected #1 overall in the NBA Draft, has played in all four games this season but his shooting form is all jacked up, which begs the question: Why is he even playing if he's clearly not comfortable shooting a free throw?

For example:

Despite being unable to effectively shoot the rock, Fultz has averaged 19 minutes in the Sixers' four games, and has averaged 6 points per game while shooting 33% from the floor.

Fultz' agent Raymond Brothers told ESPN,

"From a basketball perspective, it's been encouraging to see that Markelle can get any shot he wants during the games, but he has been unable to shoot the ball," Brothers told ESPN.

The Sixers are no strangers to dealing with injuries when it comes to their rookies, but that doesn't mean they know what they're doing. In 2016, the Sixers selected Ben Simmons #1 overall but he sat out the entire year while recovering from foot surgery to repair a Jones fracture. Joel Embiid was also sidelined for his first two seasons before finally getting healthy enough to play in just 31 games last year.

The Sixers, coming off their first win of the season last night, will take on the Rockets in Philly on Wednesday.
