In another heart-stopping matchup in college football, No. 13 ranked USC managed to recover from a deficit of 21-7 to pull out a win over Utah in Los Angeles on Saturday night, closing out the evening with a final score of 28-27.
It was with 42 seconds left on the clock, after the Trojans properly made their comeback to lead that Utah scored a touchdown that would bring the game up to 28-27. Only within a point of tying the game, the Utes would go for a two-point conversion. But, after quarterback Troy Williams failed to locate an open receiver in the form of Darren Carrington who had a clear path as he tucked himself in the back of the end zone, the game was decidedly over.
Nevertheless, Utah almost succeeded at putting an end to that losing streak on USC’s turf, now having lost seven games while away at the Trojans since 1916. This match now brings Utah’s record to 4-2, losing its second game in a row while USC strengthens to 6-1, adding to their fourteenth win in a row at home.
But of course, Twitter has you covered on the match’s top moments with many chiming in on everything from the game’s intensity, the lack of judgement from referees, and Troy Williams’ costly overlook at the match’s end. Check out Twitter’s top responses below.
