Clemson barely makes it out.

Saturday night, Clemson claimed a victory over Texas A&M in a matchup decided by a difference of two points. While far from an impressive showing for the program, it provided a learning opportunity in the process of knocking down a 28-26 win.

“This is a game we can really grow from,” Clemson coach Dabo Swinney said on ESPN’s broadcast. “We’re thankful that we got the win. I’m proud of our guys. “Neither team wanted to lose. I think you saw that tonight. Both teams fought incredibly hard. We were fortunate to come out on top, no doubt about it.”

Ultimately, it was senior quarterback Kelly Bryant who stepped up to bring it home, going 12-for-17 and passing for 205 yards and a touchdown and rushing for 54 yards and a score.

The Aggies certainly didn’t go down without a fight, coming into the second half with a deficit of 28-13. An opportune two-point conversion would have sent the game into overtime in the final minute, but Clemson’s Mark Fields successfully intercepted A&M quarterback Kellen Mond in the end zone, bringing things to an end with an on-side kick from senior Hunter Renfrow.

This now marks Clemson’s fourth consecutive road win against an SEC opponent and checks off what is possibly their toughest road game opponent this season.
