Waka Flocka paid a visit to Sway in the Morning where he revealed that he does not identify as African-American, along with giving props to South Florida rapper XXXTentacion.
During his visit, the "No Hands" rapper gives his opinion on a lot of the current issues surrounding black people in America and follows it up with how he's not "connected."
"I'm not African-American at all," Waka says in the video. "My folks is not from Africa. A lot of people in this room's folks ain't from Africa. Might be a couple, but people just don't understand. I asked my grandma, 'Yo grandma, what's your background?' She said 'Red foot and black tail Indian.' I said, 'What?' She said, 'Yeah.' My mother and my father, we 100% Indians.' I asked my other grandmother, and we got Cherokee in us, and European and Italian. A little Dominican." As the interview continues he adds, "I'm uneducated. I'm confused. But I'm damn sure not Black. You're not gonna call me Black."
Waka details how he thinks America is under an illusion when it comes to race saying black and white people only exist in the states, adding that a white person isn't white in Europe, "they're European." He praises young rappers in the game such as XXXTentacion when discussing the trials and tribulations of dealing with racist people.
"I don't understand how people keep protesting and doing those boycottin' shit, tryna see eye-to-eye with people that for over 40 years don't see eye-to-eye with you. These niggas grandparents don't see eye-to-eye with you so how you expect the kids to see eye-to-eye with you?" he says. "That's why you got [rappers like XXXTentacion] out here. People look at XXXTentacion like he's crazy. That nigga's a genius. He's 19 years old."
Waka recently dropped his track "Circles" featuring Derez DeShon and "TRap My Ass Off" that are lead singles on his upcoming drop Flockavelli 2. Take a listen and let us know what you think.
