If you remember way back in January of 2016, Chris Brown was being sued for allegedly punching a woman in the face in his Las Vegas hotel room after she took a picture of the singer on her cellphone. While Chris had plans to countersue for false accusations, it turns out that the two parties have finally settled the lawsuit outside court.
According to TMZ, Chris and the woman, Liziane Gutierrez, have settled the case for an undisclosed amount of money. Sources familiar with the negotiations told TMZ that there was some sort of preliminary talk of $70,000, but other sources say that it's way less and nowhere near $70K.
Chris had denied any wrongdoing in the lawsuit saying Liziane was "too ugly" to attend one of his parties. And for what its worth, police never charged Chris with any crime, so it kinda sounds like a money-hungry attempt to get money from Chris, which ultimately worked.
In fact, the woman, Liziana Gutierrez, had been involved in past drama with another male R&B singer, Jason Derulo. Back in August of 2016, TMZ shared a video of Gutierrez complaining to the paparazzi after she wasn't let in Derulo's car outside of a Vegas club. So it's safe to say she was plotting against Chris this whole time.
This latest news comes just weeks after finding out that Chris’ long awaited double album, Heartbreak On A Full Moon, is expected to arrive this Halloween, October 31. Whether or not that’s still going to be a double album is unknown since Chris was a victim of a massive leak earlier this Summer, but what we do know is that singles like “Party” with Usher & Gucci Mane, “Privacy” and “Questions” should all see life on the album. Keep your eyes peeled for updates and details moving forward.
In the meantime, revisit Chris’ latest collab with Fabulous & Velous called “Flip Mode” and K Michelle “Either Way” to hold you over.
