Super Bowl Sunday. Eagles vs. Patriots. Brady vs. Foles. Gamblers vs. their bookies.
According to Business Insider, the American Gaming Association expects roughly $4.6 billion to be bet on today's game, and only 3% of that will be wagered legally in Nevada. The rest of today's Super Bowl LII action will be placed through local bookies, offshore bookies and even those office pools that everyone and their mom partakes in.
However, gambling on the actual outcome of the game, such as, will the Patriots win by more than 4.5 points, is far from the only thing for gamblers to throw some money on today. It's the biggest gambling day of the year and there is plenty to bet on outside of whether or not the Patriots and Eagles combine for more than 49 points. In fact, you could make yourself a pretty penny (or dig yourself a deep hole) well before kickoff.
If you're unfamiliar with betting odds, here's a quick example:
Tom Brady is favored to win Super Bowl MVP, his odds are (-110). That (-) means you have to put up $110 in order to profit $100. On the other hand, Eagles QB Nick Foles' odds to win MVP are (+325). That (+) means you'll receive $325 for every $100 you place on Foles.
