After vowing a break from music, Young Thug's appearance on Tekashi 6ix9ine's debut may be the last time we hear from Thugger in a minute. Some may take issue with that; after all, Tekashi's not exactly the most loved rapper on the planet, and haters may view an association with him to be a negative. Still, the young New Yorker has come this far. Brash antics aside, the "GUMMO" scribe has emerged as an original and refreshing voice in the hip-hop scene. Not only has he earned co-signs from the legendary Swizz Beatz, but respected names like Offset, Tory Lanez, and Young Thug have clearly been converted.
On standout cut "Rondo," Tory Lanez holds it down on the chorus, throwing his autotune-drenched voice over a frantic chime arrangement; this isn't Tory for the ladies, but rather that of "Shooters" reborn. Tekashi and Thug proceed to do their thing, finding a strange chemistry in spite of their distinctly different styles. Chances are, many casuals will skip directly to this one. Do you feel it's a standout?
Quotable Lyrics
6ix9ine, bang red like Heinz
I'm a snake, n*** 6 shots in ya spine
Money call me, I'ma pick up every time
