It's safe to say Chief Keef has never been one to take orders from record labels. Whether it be from Interscope or FilmOn TV, Sosa has always preferred to do things his own way, which ultimately might’ve hurt the trajectory of his career. But over the past year or so, the GBE rapper has been releasing music independently, having no one tell him what to do or when to drop, but it appears that might be coming to an end soon.
According to his long time homie Fredo Santana, Sosa has signed a deal with Fredo’s Savage Squad Records label. “Just signed Sosa to @savagesquadrecords,” Fredo’s caption on IG read along with a clip of Sosa flossing.
Who knows if this is true or if they’re just trolling us because it really doesn’t seem to make too much sense for Sosa to sign to Fredo, maybe the other way around? However if it is true, Sosa would join a roster of SD, Gino Marley, Cdai, and Boss Top over at Savage Squad Records.
Chief Keef is reportedly readying a few different projects at the moment, but in true Sosa fashion who knows when they’ll arrive. Sosa’s Turbo Bandana project with Fredo Santana was supposed to drop first, with his Dedication project to follow on October 31, but no information on either of the projects have come to light since he shared the artwork for Dedication last month. In addition to that, Sosa was also spotted working with Philly rockstar Lil Uzi Vert in the studio back in September, which left fans are eager to hear what they cooked up.
Check out Fredo’s announcement (below) and let us know what you think! Are they trolling us or do you think Sosa actually signed with Fredo Santana?
While you wait for Sosa's next project, be sure to revisit his recently released W mixtape to hold you over in the meantime.
