We've just entered the month of September which means that unfortunately, the summer has ended. However, the song of the summer "Bodak Yellow" is clearly trying to move into the fall as well. Cardi B has announced that the song is the number one streamed song in the country.

The rapper took to Instagram today to post a screenshot of the charts. She captioned it "Number 1 song streaming in the country thank you motherfuckers :') πŸ’ͺ🏽 πŸ’ͺ🏽 πŸ’ͺ🏽 πŸŽ‰ πŸŽ‰ πŸŽ‰ πŸŽ‰ πŸŽ‰ πŸŽ‰ πŸŽ‰ πŸŽ‰ Thank you for streaming ,buying ,spinning and sharing THANK YOU BARDIGANG....my project will be coming soon 😜 😜 😜." The song is currently sitting above Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee's "Desposito" featuring Biebervelli and 21 Savage's "Bank Account."

It's certainly quite the accomplishment for Cardi B, considering it's her first single to even chart on the Billboards. It's difficult to argue that "Bodak Yellow" isn't a defining song of summer 2017. The Bronx rapper has been working hard over the past few years but this one popped for her and has been a major catalyst in her recent success. The song has taken her to perform it at the VMA's and  also performing it in Las Vegas before the Mayweather/McGregor fight.

However, while the song is still clearly doing well, Bardi herself is surely aware that the true test will be when she drops her next project. While she signed to Atlantic prior to the release of the single, in the same Instagram post she has reassured her fans that an album will be on the way.

The news of her song being the number one streamed song in the country comes only a few hours after it was announced that the record is now certified gold by the RIAA. Another fine accomplishment.

Week after week, the record seems to become increasingly popular as it continues to climb the charts. Just last week, a geography teacher in New York City had taken the record and remixed it for her students to learn geography. The song is clearly popular because the teacher tweeted out "They're tapping to this beat and rapping the original lyrics in my class, so I remixed it, so they could retain the continents instead..." before it caught the attention of Cardi B, who was absolutely excited about it.
