G-Herbo brings a new take to a Meek Mill banger.

Yesterday, G Herbo announced that his highly anticipated Humble Beast album would be dropping on September 15th, with production from No ID, Da Internz, Southside and London On Da Track. While that production lineup certainly promises quality, this latest drop from Herbo confirms that he's sounding hungry as hell, and this is only the warm-up. The Chicago rapper, who formerly went by the name of Lil Herb, has been building hype for a minute now, taking his time and setting his sights on classics like Illmatic & Reasonable Doubt. While those may be lofty goals, G-Herbo's raw, street sound and real-life stories should lend itself well to a meaningful debut.

Now, Herbo has released a remix of "We Ball," Meek Mill and Young Thug's Wins and Losses collaboration. Over the Wheezy and Future produced instrumental, Hero sets things off by invoking his former alter-ego, insinuating a difference in styles between Herb and Herbo. As this remix skews toward the Herb side of the spectrum, it's no surprise that Herbo is sounding raw, young and hungry on this one. "Wake up thinking feeling on some Lil Herb shit," proclaims Herbo, before going in.

You can hear the pain in his voice as he reflects on some of the violence he's experienced, along with some of the soldiers he lost along the way. Herbo lists off a whole multitude of names that have no inherent meaning to listeners, but it's clear that these men have had a profound effect on the rapper. For many, the pain and raw honesty Herbo brings to the table is what keeps many people checking for his music,  adamantly proclaiming him to be one of the game's most underrated.

While we have yet to really get a taste of what Humble Beast will bring to the table, "We Ball (Remix)" proves that Herbo can indeed be deadly over other rapper's beats.

Quotable Lyrics

I seen Kobe die that was my young n*gga
He was lain in front McDonalds with them slugs in him
I hear blood all on my Nikes with no blood in em
Couldn't handle it but that wasn't like me, cryin', ripped my white tee
