"This went from flirtation with Fox to done deal in just a few hours."

Former Chicago Bears QB Jay Cutler is hanging 'em up (for now) after 11 seasons in the NFL to pursue a career as an NFL analyst.

As rumored yesterday and confirmed today, Cutler has agreed to a broadcasting deal with Fox Sports.

NFL Network's Mike Garafolo first reported the news, saying,

"This got done in a hurry," Garafolo said on Good Morning Football Friday. "This went from flirtation with Fox to done deal in just a few hours."

Cutler, 34, was cut by the Bears in March and will now be teaming up with Kevin Burkhardt and Charles Davis as part of a three man broadcasting crew. This was intentionally designed so that if a starting quarterback position opens up during the season, Cutler can opt to return to the NFL without disrupting the Burkhardt/Davis broadcasting team.

Check out Cutler's comments on his "retirement" below.
