The Miami Dolphins officially announced yesterday afternoon that they had reached a one-year agreement with QB Jay Cutler, who had walked away from the NFL back in May.
The 34-year old quarterback had originally planned to begin his broadcasting career with Fox but after Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill went down with an injury he decided to come out of retirement.
His wife, Kristin Cavallari also played a role in getting him back on the field.
Per the Sun Sentinel's Omar Kelly, Cutler said,
"She got tired of me being around the house."
And with Jay slated to make $10 million this season with the Dolphins, it's not a surprise she was so eager to see him get out of the house again.
As for the shape he's in, Cutler told reporters, per NFL.com's Conor Orr,
"The good thing is I play quarterback, so I don't have to be in that great of cardiovascular shape," he said.
