The New England Patriots have been invited to the White House today to celebrate their Super Bowl LI victory, yet a handful of players have already announced they won't be attending as they have no desire to meet and interact with President Trump.
Earlier this week, former Patriots lineman Chris Long and cornerback Devin McCourty elaborated on why they declined the invite, joining others like LeGarrette Blount, Martellus Bennett and Dont'a Hightower.
Tom Brady, for other reasons, also won't be making the trip to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue today.
The Patriots' QB released the following statement this morning saying he won't be with his teammates at the White House today due to "personal family matter."
