"Tom Brady started this."

Today Nelly joined Shannon Sharpe and Skip Bayless on their FS1 show "Undisputed" to weigh in on the fact that some New England Patriots players, including Martellus Bennett and Devin McCourty, have decided to skip the celebratory visit to the White House.

Both players have expressed that they won't be celebrating their Super Bowl LI victory at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue because of the man who currently resides there, President Donald Trump.

After the Super Bowl, Bennett simply told reporters he wasn't interested in attending the White House visit "because I don't support the guy in the house."

McCourty echoed those statements, telling TIME, "Basic reason for me is I don’t feel accepted in the White House.”

Nelly made it clear that Patriots players are not at all obligated to visit Trump at the White House and added that Tom Brady, who skipped a White House visit when Obama was in office, opened this can of worms.

“As a player, that’s not on me [to go to the White House],” Nelly said. "I did my job. Going to the White House, I don’t get paid for. I’m done, I did my job.'”

“I love Tom Brady and I’m not faulting his decision to skip the Obama White House visit, but he opened this box,” Nelly added.
