Who would've thought Remy Ma would be notching consecutive #1s on our TOP 100 chart in 2017? The former Terror Squad member enjoyed quite a bit of buzz when she first got released from prison in 2014, but since then she's failed to do much to capture younger rap fans' attentions, with her recent collab album with Fat Joe barely even registering a pulse on HNHH. But then she made her smartest publicity move yet: responding to a vague diss from Nicki Minaj with pure savagery. Now she's on top with her second diss track in two weeks.
Despite Remy appearing at #1 and #2, it's Lil Uzi Vert and Quavo who have the most appearances on the chart this week with three apiece (though one of Quavo's comes via 1/3rd of a Migos guest appearance). New tracks barely missing out on spots this week include Lil Uzi's "Luv Scars" (#11), Juelz Santana, French Montana, and Cam'ron's "Dip'd In Coke" (#13), Lil Uzi's "Boring Shit" (#15), and Foxy Brown's "Break's Over" (#16).
10. Lil Uzi Vert - YSL
Last week, Lil Uzi gave fans who've been eagerly awaiting Luv Is Rage 2 a consolation in the form of Luv Is Rage 1.5, which consisted of four new songs. One of them is "YSL," named for the new chain that Young Thug gifted Uzi, and it's produced by frequent Uzi/Chief Keef collaborator DP Beats. "YSL" debuts at #10.
9. 2 Chainz Feat. Quavo & Gucci Mane - Good Drank 2.0
Outside of remixes that add new artists to existing songs and CDQ versions of previously-ripped tracks, I don't think we've ever seen a track appear twice on Top Tracks. The only thing different about this updated version of 2 Chainz and Co.'s Hibachi For Lunch highlight "Good Drank" is the addition of a choir, but what a difference that makes. "Good Drank 2.0" debuts at #9.
8. Desiigner - Outlet
Is this the new "Do You Mind"? DJ Khaled's massive posse cut from last year's Major Key stayed in our top ten for over half a year, and since it fell off, nothing else has come close to matching that reign. Desiigner's recent single "Outlet" isn't close yet, only lasting four weeks thus far, but it's the best hope for a long-tenured top-tenner in 2017. In its fourth week out, "Outlet" is down two spots from #6 to #8.
7. Quavo, Travis Scott & Lil Uzi Vert - Go Off
Soundtracks from The Fast & The Furious franchise have increasingly become rap-heavy compilations with the potential to blow up (remember Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth's "See You Again"?), and the latest is no exception. Fate of The Furious: The Album has an unbelievably stacked tracklist, as evidenced by its first single. "Go Off" debuts at #7.
6. Lil Uzi Vert - XO Tour Llif3
Of the four Luv Is Rage 1.5 tracks, the decidedly emo "XO Tour Llif3" is the clear standout. Despite its subject matter, the song has garnered an 81% user approval rating, which may very well be the highest a solo Uzi track has ever gotten. "XO Tour Llif3" debuts at #6.
5. Mike Will Made It Feat. 21 Savage, YG & Migos - Gucci On My
It's now been over two years since Mike Will Made It's Ransom tape dropped, and ever since, fans have been waiting patiently for a sequel. Dropping last week, "Gucci On My" appears to be the first official single, and judging by its viewcount and user rating (84%), it portends great things for the impending tape. "Gucci On My" debuts at #5.
4. Meek Mill - King
Making a song for an underwear brand's compilation seems like one of the lamest things you could possibly do, but here we are. Meek Mill joined Lil Durk, Kid Ink, Ace Hood, Dave East and others on Ethika's RGB Mixtape last week, and his C-Sick-produced track "King" even cracks the top five despite its origins. "King" debuts at #4.
3. Kanye West Feat. The-Dream - Bed Yeezy Season 5
Back at the peak of his pop songwriting days, The-Dream penned J. Holiday's single "Bed," and outside of a rough reference version, we've never heard him tackle the song himself. But then a few weeks ago, it surfaced in the most unlikely of places: as the runway music for Kanye's Yeezy Season 5 event. Last week we got the CDQ in its full 17+ minute glory. "Bed Yeezy Season 5," perhaps the longest track to ever appear in our top ten, debuts at #3.
2. Remy Ma - ShETHER
Diss tracks always fare well on Top Tracks, so it's no surprise that the first of Remy Ma's Nicki Minaj barely fell off after its debut. At 90% user approval, this one's got a much higher rating than its follow-up, but in the Twitter era of beefs, it's clearly important to inundate your opponent with multiple diss tracks over a short period of time. In its second week out, "ShETHER" falls one spot from #1 to #2.
1. Remy Ma - Another One
For the second of Remy's Nicki disses, she borrows a phrase from her former Terror Squad pal DJ Khaled. The result didn't fare as well as "ShETHER," only landing 51% user approval, but because it's a diss track, it still got plenty of clicks. "Another One" is fittingly Remy's second consecutive track to hit #1.
