Travis Scott is expected to get his first No. 1 album with "Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight."

Just a day after its release, the first-week sales projections for Travis Scott's new album, Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight, have arrived. Scott premiered the album live on his new ".Wav" radio show on Beats 1, and he soon released it as an Apple exclusive, for retail sale on iTunes and for streaming on Apple Music. Factoring in both sales and streaming numbers, HDD predicts that Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight will sell 90-105k album units in its first week. In terms of pure album sales, that number lessens to 60-70k.

These projections all but confirm that Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight will easily take the top spot on the albums chart, thus earning Scott his first-ever No. 1 album. His debut album, last year's Rodeo, placed No. 3 in its first week on the chart, selling around 85k equivalent album units.

Most every album that has been premiered as an Apple exclusive has boasted impressive sales figures. Frank Ocean's long-awaited sophomore album, Blonde, is No. 1 on the current chart, as it sold a reported 278k units in its first week.
