Travis Scott blessed the globe with Astroworld this week, and fans of La Flame have not stopped blasting the project. The long awaited album kept fans at the edge of their seats, and upon its arrival, the hip-hop community went into a frenzy. According to projections by HDD, this may be Travis' biggest album opening ever.
Hits Daily Double is projecting that Astroworld will sell between 300-400k units, which will unseat Drake's Scorpion from the top spot. Knocking a Drake album out of first place is no easy feat, but La Flame is one of the few artists that has the power to do so. It is also projected that 45-65k of those sales will be attributed to physical album sales. Once again, these are only projections, and the final numbers have yet to be confirmed.
Trav's last album, Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight, also debuted at number one, but didn't sell nearly as many records. It debuted with 89k, but it was exclusively launched through Apple Music, which hindered streams and sales in other areas. Astroworld has been dominating the streaming charts, taking over 17 of the Top 20 spots at Apple Music and 17 of the Top 25 on Spotify U.S.
