This week we're seeing how Honest and The New Classic are holding up after spending two weeks on the Billboard 200. Despite lagging behind in the first week the albums were on shelves, Iggy Azalea has now surpassed Future sales-wise and she sits atop the charts at #5. We'll have to see how these two play out in the long run-- Iggy definitely has more of a mainstream appeal, especially with that single "Fancy", so the longterm could be to her benefit. We're seeing Pharrell's album G I R L remain a chart-topper, while his debut partner Ricky Rozay falls off and is now behind Pharrell's sales. Two new entries on the Billboard 200 this week include Styles P and Bas, however both debuted quiet low, with the former at #73 and the latter at #103. However, for Bas, that's not too shabby considering he doesn't have very many fans at this point and he really is on the come-up (something his Dreamville boss, J. Cole, actually stated himself in a recent video). Check out where other albums clock in this week below.
1) Iggy Azalea—The New Classic: Despite Future outselling Iggy Azalea in the first week their albums were on shelves, Ms. Iggy is now sitting on top of Honest, with The New Classic moving 22,525 copies this week, coming in at #5 in her second week. Her total sales are at 74,917 units.
2) Pharrell— G I R L: Pharrell Williams is right below Iggy this week, at #6 dropping two spots from last week’s #4. The singer sold 21,645 units this week, with total sales of 347,128.
3) Future— Honest: Following closely behind Pharrell is Future at #7. Although he had the lead by 100,000 units last week, Iggy Azalea’s total sales now surpass Future’s. Honest moved out 19,731 copies in the second week it was on shelves. The total sales are at 73,083.
4) August Alsina— Testimony: The r’n’b singer saw quiet a drop this past week, after sitting at near the top of the charts last week he’s now dropped down to #18. After spending 3 weeks on the Billboard 200, August moved out 12,000 units, with his grand tally at 99,000.
5) Beyonce— Beyonce: Queen Bey rises up 2 spots this week, coming in at #24 from last week’s #26. The singer has been charting for 21 weeks straight, and was able to sell another 10,000 units this week with her total sales nearing the 2 million mark, at 1,959,000.
6) Eminem— The Marshall Mathers LP 2: Eminem continues to kill it on the Billboard 200, although MMLP2 did see a bit of a drop this week. The album fell to #31, after moving 8,700 units. Total sales are at 2,089,000.
7) YG— My Krazy Life: Bompton’s own YG fell 11 spots this week, down to #34. The rapper’s been charting for 7 weeks, and managed to move out 8,100 copies. Total sales for My Krazy Life stand at 140,900.
8) Rick Ross— Mastermind: Rozay’s Mastermind also fell off a bit this week, down to #39. The Bawse of all bawses pushed 7,200 copies this past week, while his total sales are 328,000—Pharrell has officially passed him sales-wise.
9) Justin Timberlake— The 20/20 Experience 2: JT is still moving out copies of The 20/20 Experience 2, although its definitely slowed down. This week the LP fell just one spot to #40, while Justin sold 7,000 units with total sales at 961,000.
10) Jhene Aiko— Sail Out EP: Jhene Aiko rounds out this week’s list of chart-toppers, with her Sail Out EP coming in at #48. That’s a drop from last week’s spot at #37. The singer sold 5,806 units this week, which is a drop in sales of 12%.
ScHoolboy Q’s Oxymoron falls below the top 50 of Billboard’s 200 this week, coming in at #52, moving 5,545 copies. Drizzy’s Nothing Was The Same dropped this week to #56. Styles P made his Billboard debut this week with Phantom And The Ghost coming in at #74, selling 4,331 copies. Dreamville rapper Bas also made his Billboard debut with Last Winter coming in at #103 and moving 3,601 copies opening week.
