This week we don't have many new entries to speak of, save for Sage The Gemini's Remember Me. Depending on the numbers Smoke DZA's new album Dream.ZONE.Achieve did, we may or may not see it pop up on Charts Don't Lie next week, though. This week remains fairly unexciting, as Pharrell manages to climb up the charts while Rick Ross descends, and Pharrell picks up pace sales-wise too. YG's My Krazy Life hasn't been able to keep the #2 debut spot locked down, as he dropped down five spots. Freddie Gibbs & Madlib are staying very underground with Pinata (that is not a bad thing), they didn't exactly have a strong debut and this week they've descended even more into chart oblivion at #102. 1) Pharrell Williams—G I R L: Pharrell’s G I R L looks like it’ll be holding on to the top of the Billboard 200 for the long term. After dropping to #6 last week, the singer/sometimes rapper is back up at #5 this week. G I R L sold another 25,000 copies with total sales up to 217,000.
2) YG—My Krazy Life: YG’s debut album made a splash at #2 on the Billboard 200, although his second week finds him dropping to #7. He still moved 23,000 copies off shelves, a drop in sales of 65%, while his grand tally nears 100k, with 84,000 copies sold total.
3) Rick Ross— Mastermind: Ricky Rozay’s sixth studio album may have been yet another #1 debut for his catalogue, but will it hold up in the long run? That remains to be seen—this week Mastermind fell again to #11 moving out 19,000 units. His total sales are 275,000.
4) Beyonce— Beyonce: Bey creeps down the charts ever so slowly, moving only a few spots at a time. This week she dropped from #12 to #14, after spending 16 weeks on the charts. The superstar sold 16,000 units and brought her total sales to 1,905,000. Soon enough she’ll hit that 2x platinum certification.
5) Eminem— The Marshall Mathers LP 2:While reviews for MMLP2 remain mixed, the album hasn’t had any issues moving large amounts. This week Em moves up one spot to #26 after moving 12,000 copies. He’s been charting for 21 weeks now and his total sales are 2,029,000.
6) ScHoolboy Q— Oxymoron: ScHoolboy Q’s latest release fell a few spots this week from #29 to #33. He’s only been charting for five weeks now. Oxymoron moved out 10,000 units while his total sales are 207,000.
7) Jhene Aiko—Sail Out EP: Jhene Aiko has had a surprising amount of success with her Sail Out EP, something she herself indicated during interviews, as it was really serving as warm-up to her debut album (and thus she wasn’t expecting a chart-topper). While we’re still waiting for updates on that debut project, Sail Out drops a few spots this week to #45. Aiko moved 7,700 copies. Total sales of 189,000.
8) Sage The Gemini— Remember Me: West Coast rapper Sage made his debut on the Billboard 200 this past week with the release of his album Remember Me, containing his hits like “Gas Pedal.” Sage managed a debut at #47 on the 200, moving 7,200 copies.
9) Drake—Nothing Was The Same: Drake’s been hitting us with new cuts this past week, keeping the fans satisfied, while NWTS descends the charts. This week the album dropped to #51 while Drizzy sold 6,600 units, total sales are 1,522,000.
10) Young Money— Rise Of An Empire: The Young Money album definitely doesn’t do it’s counterpart We Are Young Money justice. Rise Of An Empire dropped down to #59 from #36, with total sales of 48,000 (this week the LP moved 6,100 units). Compare that to We Are Young Money’s first week sales alone, at 142,000 copies.
11) Kendrick Lamar— good kid, m.A.A.d city: The torch-bearer for TDE continues to move copies of his album which dropped more than a year ago now. GKMC fell to #66 this week, after spending 75 weeks on the Billboard 200. Kendrick moved 5,900 units. His total sales are up to 1,226,000.
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis are officially loosing speed on The Heist (maybe, you can never really tell with these two), as the album drops from #63 to #86 this week. Freddie Gibbs & Madlib’s Pinata made a debut at #39 last week, but this week the duo have made a steep drop to #102. But don’t let that throw shade on the album itself, which was critically well-received. Childish Gambino’s Because The Internet finds itself right below Pinata at #103.
