As we know, Jussie Smollett was brutally attacked in Chicago when two men approached him hurling racial and homophobic slurs, leaving him in bleach with a fractured rib cage and a noose around his neck. According to Page Six, Jussie's at home recovering but he will still perform at the Troubadour in Los Angeles on Saturday.
“Two unknown offenders approached him and gained his attention by yelling out racial and homophobic slurs towards him,” police stated, via the publication. They then “began to batter the victim with their hands about the face and poured an unknown chemical substance on the victim,” while “one of the offenders wrapped a rope around” his neck.
Cops further noted how the surveillance they have does not show the attack taking place and they are further investigating the horrible event.
"I don't have all the eloquent stuff to say. I just want to say this to little brother Jussie that as a Black man in this country...I'm down with you. I know a lot of brothers that's down with you," Steve Harvey said of the attack. "This ain't about sexual preference or nothing, this about coming to the aid of another brother that has tasted the brutality of hatred, racism and bigotry. So we down with you Jussie Smollett, however you want to handle this."
