Sad news was reported yesterday when Jussie Smollett was sent to the hospital after a brutal attack in Chicago. The Empire actor was approached by two men who called him racial and homophobic slurs before they beat him up and left him with a fractured rib and a noose around his neck. Already, T.I., Lee Daniels and more have sent well wishes to the actor and latest to share a message is Steve Harvey.
The talk show host posted a video to his Instagram feed explaining how he's standing with his "little brother" Jussie Smollett and will support him in any which way.
"[...] I don't have all the eloquent stuff to say. I just want to say this to little brother Jussie that as a Black man in this country...I'm down with you. I know a lot of brothers that's down with you," Steve said in the video. "This ain't about sexual preference or nothing, this about coming to the aid of another brother that has tasted the brutality of hatred, racism and bigotry. So we down with you Jussie Smollett, however you want to handle this."
Steve let it be known that his words are not "a call for violence" but just a message to let Jussie know that the OGs are with him.
