Philadelphia 76ers All Star center Joel Embiid didn't mince words after Wednesday night's 118-115 victory against the Boston Celtics.
"I've been hearing that these guys can guard me better than anyone else, so I had to come out and show that I'm the most unstoppable player in the league," Embiid told ESPN's Cassidy Hubbarth after the game.
Embiid had good reason to be feeling himself after last night's win, as he led all scorers with 37 points while grabbing a career-high 22 rebounds and dishing out four assists. Not to mention, he had a crucial block on Kyrie Irving in the final moments of the game that helped Philly secure their first victory of the season against the Celtics.
Naturally, Joel took to instagram after the game to troll Terry Rozier, who had labeled him "lame" in an interview earlier in the week.
In 59 games this season, the 25-year old center is averaging career-highs in points, rebounds and assists this season, with 27.5, 13.8 and 3.5, respectively. As a result, the Sixers have cemented themselves as the three-seed in the Eastern Conference. With 10 games remaining in the regular season, Philly is four games back of the second-seed Toronto Raptors, and three games up on the fourth place Indiana Pacers.
Up next for the Sixers is a two-game road trip with stops in Atlanta and Orlando, followed by a home game against the Brooklyn Nets next Thursday.
