The Good Place actress, Jameela Jamil, has made headlines over the past few months after calling out some of the biggest celebrities over their promotion of weight loss products. Jamil recently sat down with Charlamagne Tha God for his new series, Emerging Hollywood where she got in-depth about the perception that she "canceled" Cardi B and the Kardashians. The actress discussed the oppressive beauty standards and explained her own struggles with dealing with her own body image.

"I don't cancel the Kardashians, or Iggy Azalea or Cardi B," Jameela Jamil told Charlamagne tha God. "I'm not canceling them, I'm reprimanding them. It's fine to call someone out. You're offering them the opportunity of changing."

Jamil refers to it as, "oppressive beauty standards" which she admitted affected her when she was young. "I was fully anorexic by the time I was about thirteen. I wasn't menstruating. My body was letting me know that I was dying from the inside," Jamil explained.

Jamil later explained that she tries not to use her activism as a way to seem performative anyway, saying, ""I completely understand if people distrust me. I look like the enemy. I'm slim, I fit within society's conventional attractiveness, and I am an actress. Why would anyone trust me?" She added, "I'm not going to stop because people doubt me, and most people support me."
