“I hope all these celebrities all shit their pants in public, the way the poor women who buy this nonsense upon their recommendation do."

Since the early emergence of Instagram, many an influencer could be seen posting sponsored posts boasting the supposed benefits of miracle detox teas or similar products while strategically flashing enviably toned figures. Today, such posts continue to occupy space on timelines around the world with increasingly famous and well-established influencers jumping on board as well-compensated spokespeople. Kim, Kourtney, and Khloe Kardashian have been photographed promoting the aforementioned appetite curbing products, along with other celebrities including their younger siblings Kylie and Kendall Jenner, as well as Cardi B

In a recent Twitter post, The Good Place actress Jameela Jamil called out Cardi B and other celebrities who endorse various detox teas, emphasizing the dangerous and deceptive nature of the products. Jamil took a moment to share her sentiments in response to a sponsored Instagram video posted by the "Money" emcee in which she attributes her post-baby weight loss to the consistent use of the detox tea she was advertising. "They got Cardi B on the laxative nonsense “detox” tea," she wrote. "GOD I hope all these celebrities all shit their pants in public, the way the poor women who buy this nonsense upon their recommendation do. Not that they actually take this shit. They just flog it because they need MORE MONEY." Adding more insight about healthier options, she added, "Don’t drink these “detox” teas. You need fiber! Not something that honestly just makes you have diarrhea the day you take it and constipates you in the long run..."
