Just like the Clemson Tigers Football team and the Baylor Bears Women's Basketball team, Tiger Woods will be celebrating his latest championship at the White House with Donald Trump. Judging from previous celebrations, Tiger should expect a fast-food feast consisting of Big Macs, Chick-fil-A sandwiches, pizza and things of that nature.
Woods won The Masters for the first time since 2005, and fifth time overall, last month - marking his 15th major title, just three shy of tying all-time leader Jack Nicklaus. According to CNN, Trump will honor Tiger's victory next Monday at the White House, where Tiger will be awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
Trump posted the following on twitter following Tiger's victory at The Masters:
"Spoke to @TigerWoods to congratulate him on the great victory he had in yesterday’s @TheMasters, & to inform him that because of his incredible Success & Comeback in Sports (Golf) and, more importantly, LIFE, I will be presenting him with the PRESIDENTIAL MEDAL OF FREEDOM!"
The Presidential Medal of Freedom (along with the Congressional Gold Medal) is the highest award that can be awarded to a civilian in the United States. The Medal "recognizes those individuals who have made 'an especially meritorious contribution to the security or national interests of the United States, world peace, cultural or other significant public or private endeavors.'"
Previous recipients include Michael Jordan, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Diana Ross, Ellen DeGeneres and Robert De Niro.
