Camila Cabello would have been a successful solo act with any single she dropped off before her debut album but no one can deny that the track "Havana" featuring Young Thug easily gave her a footing like no other. The tune reached billboard success right from the jump and could be heard everywhere upon it's September 8, 2017 release date.
The International Federation of the Phonographic Industry tells Page Six that the song became 2018's best-selling digital track, having been streamed 2.6 billion times around the world with an equivalent of 19 million copies sold.
"Havana’ truly was the stand-out hit of the year. Momentum behind the track continued to build and build at an extraordinary rate as it consistently topped charts and leading playlists," IFPI chief executive Frances Moore told the publication.
Young Thug previously admitted that at first, he was hesitant to collab on the track, but he's probably thanking his lucky stars that he didn't pass on the opportunity.
"I was like what the f*ck? What is this? I don't want to switch that fast. I wanna take my time," he said, after explaining that it was his mother who kept asking him if he was going to do it or not.
