Young Thug opens up to Spotify about his feature on Camila Cabello's single, "Havana." The rapper says he was quite apprehensive about the collaboration. When his mom kept asking him if he was going to pursue it, his sentiment was clear: "I was like what the f*ck? What is this? I don't want to switch that fast. I wanna take my time." Eventually, he decided to hop on the track anyway and "Havana" became a mainstream hit for the rapper. The song reached to the top spot on the U.S. Billboard Top 100 and became one of the most (gladly) overplayed song since it's release. Listen to "Havana" if you managed to dodge it somehow. It's still bumping in shopping malls to this day.

Some die-hard fans might think this cross-over was a sell-out moment for Thug, diverging so far from his original street sound. The thing is, people are never quite happy when others are put on to their underground faves. But Young Thug has already been mainstream for a minute. The artist is obviously on a consistent rise and we all just need to deal with it. After the Camila collaboration, he still mixes flavor with other rappers too. Don't worry. Peep the Moneybagg music video for the Thug-featured track, "Mandatory Drug Test."

Young Thug is set to perform at the Trillecto Music festival in September. His next project is also currently in production.
