PnB Rock's new album arrived last week with eighteen songs broken up into two sections: TrapStar and PopStar. The Philadelphia rapper impressed a good number of fans with the effort and he decided to come through with a handful of tracks that didn't make the playlist as part of the deluxe version. Including appearances from Lil Wayne, Roddy Ricch, and more, the extended edition of TrapStar Turnt PopStar has officially arrived and it has introduced even more enjoyable songs for us to consume. Today, we've chosen to highlight Rock's collaboration with Baton Rouge rapper YoungBoy Never Broke Again.
Titled "Take My Soul," the two rappers bounce ideas off of each other, looking back on tougher times and appreciating how much they've both changed. PnB Rock has spoken candidly about his past experiences in prison, noting that he's changed his lifestyle since then. He takes care of the hook, allowing NBA YoungBoy to hop on for a verse near the end of the track. In YoungBoy's opening line, he speaks about his ongoing trouble in court, saying that the reason he moved back to Louisiana is because of his judge.
What do you think of the deluxe version of PnB Rock's new album? Does it add value to the first batch of songs?
Quotable Lyrics:
On my mama I ain't never gon' let 'em take my soul
Gotta cherish the ones you love, never know who's next to go
I'm screaming free all of my dawgs, until they got 'em up the road
And I'm just thinking about the times when I was fucking broke
And I'm just thinking about the times I had no fucking hoe
I was down, I was out, I was all alone
My brother died in these streets, wish I could call his phone
When you make it out the hood, you never know
