With the 2018 XXL Freshman List now officially announced, we can shift our focus on the freestyles and cyphers we're about to receive. While this year's group may not be the most lyrical of all time, we've already received decent freestyle sessions from Ski Mask the Slump God and J.I.D. What's next to come will likely be just as exciting as we get to know some of the best young talents the game has to offer. Two of the freshmen this year with the biggest buzz are Lil Pump and Smokepurpp. The two go together like chips and dip, coming up at around the same time and working extensively with one another in their SoundCloud days. With this in consideration, it's no surprise that the two Floridians are working on a collaborative project together.
It was only a matter of time before Smokepurpp and Lil Pump linked up for a proper collab tape. With Pump dropping his Harvard Dropout project next month, he will be giving himself time to focus solely on the freshly-announced project with Purpp. Jetski shared the news with his fans on his Instagram story, saying, "After I drop [Harvard Dropout,] I'm dropping a project with my boy Smokepurpp. We 'bout to drop some crazy shit." The "Gucci Gang" penman smiled big at the end of his statement, likely thinking about the heat he will soon unleash unto his fans.
The two previously collaborated on Purpp's Deadstar track "OK" and, being such close friends, they likely have a lot of music stashed away in the safe. Are you looking out for Purpp and Pump's collab?
