Childish Gambino, also known as Donald Glover, announced recently that he would be taking a step back from comedy in order to focus on music. He now seems to be going back on his word, revealing plans for a new series for FX called "Atlanta".
Glover will “write, executive produce and play the lead in a half-hour comedy,” which will incorporate aspects of his love for hip hop as well. The series is “set against the backdrop of the Atlanta music scene,” a movement Glover is fairly familiar with growing up in Stone Mountain, Georgia.
Along with the show, Gambino also let go of a trailer for his upcoming short film "Clapping For The Wrong Reasons" last week. The film will feature guest appearances from rappers like Trinidad Jame$ and Chance The Rapper, and will see release later this week.
