Ariana Grande is on many people's minds following her tribute to Aretha Franklin at the icon's funeral. Social media users seem to be commenting on everything about her performance aside from her actual vocal performance. A dialogue was initiated when thousands of people witnessed Grande being fondled onstage. Her choice of dress was also brought into question.
Given the venue and occasion, it is reasonable for some to point out that her dress could have been more conservative and many took advantage of their right to express this opinion.
"Where is your dress Chile???? It’s a Baptist church"
"I could not sit quietly. #ArianaGrande’s dress shows lack of respect at #ArethaFranklin’s funeral"
Others came to the singer's defense. Many expressed that people's outrage should be redirected to the man who had groped her onstage after her performance.
"Apparently this needs repeating. A WOMAN'S CLOTHING HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH WHETHER OR NOT A MAN CHOOSES TO SEXUALLY ASSAULT, ABUSE, OR TOUCH HER. EVER. Spread the word because apparently people don't know what is obvious to many of us.#ArianaGrande"
"It says a lot about our society when there was more outrage over the length of #ArianaGrande's dress than the pastor who groped her."
Bill Clinton is also being called out for watching the singer with lustful eyes throughout her performance.
"Just seen the footage of #BillClinton ogling #ArianaGrande. Thank God this man is too old to rape anyone again, the lust and thirst was real @ArianaGrande @BillClinton"
Get you a man who loves you as much as Bill Clinton loves every woman he’s ever seen.
