On Friday, Ariana Grande served as a special musical guest at the funeral of the great Aretha Franklin, where she performed Aretha’s hit song “You Make Me Feel Like” live in front of thousands in attendance & millions watching on TV. Well after her performance, Bishop Charles H. Ellis III embraced Ariana in his arms as he tried to be funny by giving a dad joke in the process. “When I saw Ariana Grande on the program, I thought that was a new something at Taco Bell,” he said as the crowd bursted out into laughter.
However while this is going on, the Pastor’s arm is still wrapped around Ariana and his hand is right on her rib cage or breast for that matter, making it hella uncomfortable and inappropriate. It's clear when you see the footage that it’s a very inappropriate act, even if that wasn’t his intent, but it sure looks like he's trying to rub and cop a feel on Ariana.
Immediately following the awkward encounter, social media blew up with people shocked by the handys pastor. Perez Hilton tweeted out, “Is it just me or... was this pastor just a bit too much with Ariana Grande?,” while Author Mona Eltahawy said, “I don’t care what you think about Ariana Grande, her music or her dress. This is wrong. That bishop’s hand should not be on her breast: I just saw this because I’ve been working and not watching.”
Another person tweeted, “It makes me sick how he was touching Ariana Grande sexually multiple times on live tv, you could tell she was uncomfortable like wtf I feel so bad for her,' stated a different user. 'The whole time all those men did was sexualize her.”
