Curry expected to return after first round.

The Golden State Warriors will be without All-Star point guard Stephen Curry when they take on the San Antonio Spurs in the first round of the NBA Playoffs, but the hope is that he'll be back for the Western Conference semifinals, according to Yahoo Sports' Shams Charania.

Curry, who suffered an MCL sprain during a game against the Atlanta Hawks on March 23, has a three-week evaluation scheduled for Saturday on his left knee, according to Charania. In 51 games this season, Curry averaged 26.4 points which was tied with Kevin Durant for most on the team, in addition to 6.1 assists and 5.1 rebounds per game.

Golden State finished second in the Western Conference with a 58-24 record, and will host the Spurs when the NBA playoffs officially begin tomorrow at 3:00pm ET. That game will air on ABC.

Because there's no reseeding in the NBA Playoffs, should the Warriors advance they'll be looking at a matchup with either the third seed Portland Trail Blazers or the six seed New Orleans Pelicans in the Western Conference semis.
