YoungBoy Never Broke Again and Lil Uzi Vert's been killing it this year. For YoungBoy, he's emerged into the limelight and made a name for himself in the hip hop community with his mixtape AI Youngboy. Lil Uzi on the other hand, is finally a household name in America. With the release of Luv Is Rage 2, he became one of the brightest stars in the hip hop community. Today, YoungBoy Never Broke Again announced that he and Uzi have a joint mixtape on the way.
YoungBoy hit Twitter today to announce that he and Uzi would be dropping a joint mixtape titled, Too Fast. Along with the announcement, he also revealed the album art as well. The tweet read, "On GANG This whole tape fire [fire emoji] “too fast “ [fire emoji] #comment I’ll drop." As you could expect, his and Uzi's fans went nuts over it. The two artists have yet to even feature on a track together so it'll be interesting to hear how a whole tape comes out. While their styles differ, they still share similarities in their music. Considering the fact that he said he'll drop it if enough people comment, it seems that the project is already done and ready for public consumption. Who knows, maybe it'll actually be dropping tonight.
If Too Fast actually drops tonight, it'll make it Youngboy's second project in two weeks and his fourth project of 2017. Two weeks ago he released Ain't Too Long. At the tail end of August, he also teased that he'd be dropping his Broken Hearted mixtape on September 20th. However, that hasn't seen the light of day.
For Lil Uzi Vert, this mixtape is another piece of highly anticipated work from him. Earlier this week, it was announced that Luv Is Rage 2 is now certified Gold and that "XO Tour Llif3" is officially 4x Platinum. However, some more unfortunate news broke out this morning.
Yesterday, Playboi Carti announced that he and Uzi would be hitting the road together for a co-headlining tour. Today, Lil Uzi hit Twitter to announce that he'd be backing out of it to "focus."
