Last night, Mike WiLL Made-It, Swae Lee, and Young Thug hit up The Tonight Show as Jimmy Fallon's musical guest. Together, the trifecta came through to deliver an energetic rendition of "Fate."
Posted up in a boxing ring, Mike WiLL calls the fight, declaring that Creed II: The Album "is what fate sounds like." Introducing his two key scrappers, Swae Lee enters amidst the sound of his own backing track. Eventually, he acclimates himself to the recorded version, and his live vocals can still be discerned amidst the mix. Young Thug, on the other hand, opts for little-to-no backing track, coming through to deliver a raw vocal performance of his dexterous turn.
There's something about Mike WiLL and Swae Lee's presence that seems to invite Thugger to go off, as he previously did on SR3MM standout "Offshore." Here, Thugger spits uninterrupted for several conjoined verses, while Lee and Mike WiLL provide some welcome ad-lib assistance. Overall, it's a solid performance, made all the stronger by an impressive and confident turn from Thugger. Check out the clip below, and sound off: were you feeling this track?
