...now i mean this with no disrespect towards dave east, and i know with his affiliation with future that it probably wouldn’t have happened, but can you imagine if this song featured lil wayne?

i would’ve been okay with kanye being at number one with a three way tie (ye, kids see ghost, daytona) simply because he crafted three really phenomenal projects, and to see “ye” omitted entirely is heart breaking. C5 is also comically low just given the mere ferocity of the project, and it’s akin in nature to detox, yet not only did it release, but it delivered one of the most cohesive wayne projects in some time. would’ve killed to see “veteran” by jpegmafia be somewhere low on the list to give it some recognition, since it was a very fun and energetic experimental hip-hop record. i do however really appreciate noname’s album being so high as it was one of my favorite releases of the year. overall, while i don’t agree with most of the list, i appreciate the fact that you guys took time to create it and continually work hard to make this the meca of hip-hop journalism.

...besides this not being hip-hop, i honestly don’t care. like honestly let people do whatever they want, it has no actual effect on your life whatsoever...

...i mean, he’s not wrong. while i’m a fan of acts like action bronson, mac miller, 3rd Bass, etc., but in my opinion, white rappers lack substance and try to fill it with technical ability. there’s nothing wrong with being a fan of it, but most just come off as hollow...

...i know this is an unpopular opinion, but to me, nas is one of the most overrated rappers, and if he didn’t make “illmatic” or wasn’t a rapper from the nineties, he’d be nowhere near any greatest of all time conversations.

here's my theory: young thug only used "barter 7" as a publicity stunt, to ride the wave of publicity that is being given to tha carter 5, and he will actually be releasing "Hy!£UN35" in it's place; allowing wayne fans the ease of not having another barter, and satisfying long term thug fans as the long awaited album will be released. win, win.
