"Good thing they let me in here tonight."

Asked to present at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards, T.I. couldn't help but at least make reference to his arrest last week. The rapper was detained outside of his gated community for "disorderly conduct, public drunkenness and assault," but from how Tip explained it, he was just having a reasonable discussion with the guard who refused him entry. The rapper still hasn't received an apology from the community, so right now he's just doing his best to laugh it off.

"Jeeeesh. Good thing they let me in here tonight," he said with a laugh. Anyone who had been paying attention to the news exactly what he was getting at.

The rapper went on to present the award for Top Rap Song to Post Malone and 21 Savage for "Rockstar," which hit No. 1 on the Hot 100 earlier this year. In his intro, he also pointed out that rap has become the most streamed genre in the county. "So, the music that was birthed by the culture on the city streets is now the #1 sound in America," he said. Watch the clip above.

Kendrick Lamar, Drake, and SZA were among some of the winners at the awards Sunday night. View the full list here.
