We thought this day may never come. After years in the making & ongoing legal battles with his former Cash Money boss Birdman, Lil Wayne’s highly anticipated Carter V album has finally arrived. The project had been teased by superstars like Floyd Mayweather, Odell Beckham Jr & James Harden over the past couple weeks, before Weezy officially announced its release earlier this week in celebration of his 36th birthday yesterday.
The follow up to last year's D6: Reloaded contains 23 tracks in total and features guest appearances from some big household names, including Kendrick Lamar, Nicki Minaj, Travis Scott, XXXTentacion, Mannie Fresh, and even his daughter Reginae Carter, who appears on the song “Famous,” among others. Meanwhile, production is handled by the likes of Manne Fresh, Boi-1da, Vinylz, & more.
“I'm very much a perfectionist… I don’t know what it’s setting me up for,” Weezy said of C5. “Some big comeback, or maybe some big fall back or whatever — but it’s setting me up for something, and I’m ready.”
Finally out now, fans can stream the long awaited project in its entirety via any one of the streaming platforms. Hit play and let us know your thoughts. Is Weezy officially back or is this his farewell sendoff?
