Writer Stephen Glover (L) and actor/writer Donald Glover, winners of Best Series - Musical or Comedy for 'Atlanta,' attend the 18th Annual Post-Golden Globes Party hosted by Warner Bros.
Stephen Glover tweets and deletes reason for failed "Deadpool" animated series.

“There really was a Taylor Swift episode,” brother of Donald Glover, and co-creator at the hit series Atlanta, Stephen Glover wrote in a since-deleted tweet on Sunday. “It was HILARIOUS. And it definitely was the last straw lol.” FX and the Glover brothers infamously parted ways over creative differences last month.

Many fans speculated that the reason the animated series was put on halt was because Donald and Stephen were too busy with their other projects. Donald, who raps under the moniker Childish Gambino, responded to the speculation, tweeting, “For the record: I wasn’t too busy to work on ‘Deadpool.'” Donald also deleted his tweet, which included a faux script that he put together for fans online to get an idea of where the animated series would have gone if he didn't leave the project.

Stephen continued with a follow-up tweet that said, “Our show wasn’t too black. It wasn’t really that black at all. But we definitely wanted to give ‘Rick and Morty’ a run for their money and I think we would have. Proud of the gang.” The thought of a Deadpool animated series that feels like a "Rick and Morty" episode sounds like exactly what the fans wanted. It's a shame that FX was scared of offending Taylor Swift.
