Cool & Dre have made no secret that they are fans of Cash Money, but now much bigger moves are being made with the two hip-hop staples. The duo has just announced a brand new partnership agreement with the powerhouse record label run by Baby. Apparently, the agreement will allow them to produce tons of tracks for both Cash Money and its subsidiary Young Money imprint (which, of course, is lead by Lil Wayne and features Drake and Nicki Minaj).

Cash Money Records' co-founder Baby has compared his artist Lil Wayne to the late pop icon Michael Jackson and reveals the high hopes he has for the rapper when he returns from jail. Watch Lil Wayne's latest Interview from jail here.


The Birdman credits Wayne's hard work ethic as reason enough for the comparison.

 Flo Rida is releasing a beefy third LP. The double disc, titled 'The Only One' will consist of two sister albums -- 'Only One Flo' and 'Only One Rida.' With guest appearances from Ludacris, Gucci Mane and Lil Wayne, who cameos on 'Fresh Out of State,' the two-disc album will also include his international hit 'Can't Handle Me' with David Guetta, which cracked the Top 20 in the U.S. and reached the top of the charts in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

Lil Wayne might have been forced into solitary confinement earlier this week, but his latest release, the digital-only LP, I Am Not A Human Being, debuted at the top of The Billboard 200 today (October 6).


According to the Nielsen SoundScan, the disc landed at the No. 2 position on this week’s charts after selling close to 110,200 copies since hitting Internet retailers last Tuesday. As previously reported, physical copiesof I Am Not A Human Being will hit stores next week.

After inking a deal with Def Jam earlier this year, Shyne has hit up SOHH to reveal his issues with the renowned record label and hint at plans to possibly join Lil Wayne and Baby at Cash Money Records.

Shyne blames Def Jam's lack of interest in promoting and pushing hip-hop acts as a reason for him to seek another label home.

The mixtape game took a shot to the heart a few years ago when DJ Drama's office was raided by the feds. Artists increasingly opted to make mixtapes that were essentially albums, projects produced without help from DJs and comprised mostly of original material.

Two-and-a-half months after his epic '6 Foot 7 Foot' single dropped, Lil Wayne is finally debuting his music video for the Bangladesh-produced banger on Thursday (March 3) at 7:54 PM EST on MTV.


The song is Wayne's first single since his release from Rikers Island prison in November, and the typically hyper-productive rapper has been keeping a uncharacteristically low profile since, only popping up on a handful of remixes and leaking a mixtape verse here and there.

Hip Hop DX caught up with Wiz Khalifa while he was at Philadelphia’s Wire 96.5FM radio station on a promo tour. DX asked Wiz if Lil Wayne’s recent ESPN interview (above) about remaking Khalifa’s ‘Black and Yellow’ was a subliminal response to the rapper’s supposed lyrical jabs in the past at Tyga.

It looks like Lil Wayne is in trouble with the government yet again. Though the Young Money boss recently paid off a $1.13 million tax lien in Dade County, Fla., in November 2010, he has reportedly been hit with another IRS bill, this time for a whopping $5,610,034.00.


The IRS has been hounding Wayne for unpaid income taxes for years, filing a lien against the rapper back in 2008, going after his One Family Foundation charity in June 2010, for the years 2004, 2005 and 2007. Now the government is seeking over $5.6 million for income earned during the years 2008 and 2009.

Fresh on the heels of announcing the tile of his new album, 'I'm Gay,' rapper Lil B has now revealed that he is working on an EP with Roc Nation signee Jay Electronica.


The news is typical of Lil B, who always seems close to pulling off some bizarre feat, and extremely surprising of Jay-Z-affiliate Jay Electronica, one of hip-hop's most respected new artists, though he has released music at a snail's pace since his acclaimed single 'Exhibit C.'

Missed Lil Wayne as he hit arenas on his first tour since spending a year in prison for gun charges? You're in luck! After wrapping up his two-month-long I Am Still Music tour at the Bamboozle Festival on May 1, Weezy has decided to stay on the road. The '6 Foot 7 Foot' rapper has announced a second leg to the touring hip-hop circus that will hit 40 cities, beginning July 13 in Hartford, Conn.

Lil Wayne’s manager, Cortez Bryant, recently revealed that a potential merger with powerhouse management firm Hip-Hop Since 1978 is on the horizon.

During an interview with BlackEnterprises.com, Bryant said his own Bryant Management and HHS1978, which recently added Nicki Minaj to its impressive roster, are just shy of “making [their joint venture] official on paper.”

Young Money princess Nicki Minaj will be the subject of a one-hour expose, E! Entertainment Special: Nicki Minaj, this week.

Rap fans in love with Jay-Z and Kanye West’s joint album, Watch the Throne, can brace themselves for another release by different hip-hop dynamic duo: Lil Wayne and Drake.

Although he didn’t name a tentative date, Cash Money Records founder Bryan “Baby” Williams confirmed with XXL that Weezy and Drizzy will definitely be putting out a collaborative album together well after each deliver their respective solo efforts.

Soulja Boy told Boombox he is working on his next album, called "Promises." 

"Right now I'm working on my new album," Soulja said. "It's called 'Promise' -- my fourth album to release from Interscope Records. It'll be in stores top of 2012. I want everybody to support."

After scoring the highest-selling Hip Hop album of the year with Tha Carter IV, Lil Wayne has also lodged one of the most successful tours of 2011 with his “I Am Still Music” tour.


The Young Money leader, who performed in 78 venues across three continents (North America, Africa and Australia), grossed $47 million with the tour. Feats included selling 32,000 tickets in Chicago, Illinois, 27,000 tickets in Buffalo, New York and 28,000 tickets in both Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Dallas, Texas.
