Rita Ora had a minute to talk about her current projects and past collaborations at last night's MTV VMA Awards. The "Girls" singer assured Billboard, that her album will be coming out by the end of the year. “I’ve put out four singles last year, internationally, and I think that it’s so incredibly important to just keep feeding music, music, music, and then the album will eventually follow, even though my album will definitely be out this year," she said. “It’s been a long journey,” she added. “I mean, we all know it’s been an up and down rollercoaster, so I’m happy it’s finally coming to a standstill.”
One of Rita's nominations at the award show was for her collaboration with Avicii on the track “Lonely Together," marking the last song he released before his death. “For me, I was the last song he ever put out, so I felt really responsible to just get the message out with our song,” Rita said. “And the fact that the VMAs have nominated it is just so amazing and I think he’d be so happy, so I’m kinda doing it for the both of us.”
Rita ended up winning the award for Best Dance Video, bringing home the statue that will always remind her of her late, talented collaborator Avicii.
