The unfortunate passing of Rihanna's 21-year-old cousin happened yesterday when he was shot dead a day after they spent Christmas together. The singer shared a touching post of photos with her and Tavon with a caption that read, "can't believe it was just last night that I held you in my arms."
Just recently she followed up with another post to Instagram that shows the true spirit of her late cousin, in a video that sees him walking the streets of Barbados saying "it's nice to wake up and see all ya brudda's and sista's." Watch the video below.
Nation News reports that Tavon was walking in the St Michael's area around 7 PM on December 26th when an unidentified man shot him several times. He succumbed to his injuries after being rushed to the hospital.
On the music side of things for Rihanna, she recently celebrated 100 weeks on the Billboard hot 200 charts thanks to her eighth studio album, Anti. Tracks like "Kiss It Better," "Needed Me" and "Love on the Brain" secured her name on the lists for a record amount of time.
